ROBERTO Di Matteo has hailed the talents of new Chelsea signing Marko Marin .

Marin will join the Blues from Werder Bremen this summer after the two clubs agreed a fee believed to be in the region of £7million.

The 23-year-old German international is a versatile attacking midfielder who represented his country twice at the 2010 World Cup.

And interim Chelsea boss Di Matteo believes Marin will prove a good addition to the squad at Stamford Bridge.

He said: “He’s a German international, a skillful player who is very talented and will certainly add some different qualities to this team. He has been signed for next season.

“He can play a few different roles. He’s an attacking player with creativity but it [where he will fit into the team] depends on how the team will play.”

Marin joined Bremen from Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2009 and was contracted to the club until June 2013.

He has already passed a medical in London and will sign a contract with Di Matteo’s side in the next few weeks.

And the German hoping the interim boss is still in place after the summer.

Marin told German football magazine Kicker: "It fits perfectly for me, otherwise I would not have sought this move. Above all, Chelsea's play is based a lot on wide men.

"I had good talks with Di Matteo and I hope he stays."
