JOHN TERRY was lauded for his sheer professionalism by Andre Villas-Boas after a typically swashbuckling display that helped the Blues to a share of the spoils at Tottenham.

The defender (pictured) was predictably the target of a lot of hostility from home fans in the wake of the announcement 24 hours earlier that he will face criminal charges for alleged racist comments directed at QPR's Anton Ferdinand.

The Chelsea skipper responded in the only way he knows, seemingly redoubling his efforts on the pitch and, somewhat symbolically, saving the day in the last minute with a goal-line clearance.

“His commitment is fantastic, concentration fantastic as well,” Villas-Boas said after Wednesday night's 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane.

“We have seen in the past, great, great performances from him and again recently. Since what happened, his levels of performance have even increased.

“He's a fantastic player, whose commitment is never in doubt and the quality and talent is never in doubt. He's completely focused to the causes of the football club.”
