ANDRE Villas-Boas hit out at referee Howard Webb after Chelsea blew a three-goal lead to draw with Manchester United.

A Jonny Evans own goal, coupled with second-half strikes by Juan Mata and David Luiz, put the Blues in a commanding position at Stamford Bridge.

But Webb turned the game on its head by awarding the visitors two penalties, which were both converted by Wayne Rooney, before Javier Hernandez snatched a point for the champions.

Villas-Boas fumed: "The first penalty was an obvious one.

“I’m not sure the ref saw the second, but it was very unlucky [for us].

“ I’m not sure if he was compensating for anything in the first half.

“The ref shifted the running of the game.

“In both games against United, the refs played directly into the results.

“We expect the top referees to be perfect in this big games.

“I think [Gary] Cahill was lucky not to be yellow carded in the first half for a foul outside the box. Maybe Webb was compensating for that in the second.”
