CARL Cort hailed Brentford's battling display as they earned a deserved draw at Millwall last night.

Lewis Grabban 's enforced absence against his parent club gave the former Newcastle frontman his first start in five months, and he repaid boss Andy Scott with the opener at the New Den.

The Lions lay siege to the visitors' goal for most of the game, and their pressure paid off after the break when Paul Robinson 's header earned them a point.

"We were under a lot of pressure for the majority of the game but we weathered the storm so we're delighted," said Cort.

"I was surprised I was starting to be honest. I always keep myself fit in case the opportunity comes. Luckily it did, and I thought it went okay.

"I've come in and scored, and hopefully I'm up for selection against Exeter on Monday."
