THAMES VALLEY LEAGUE DIVISION 2B

Chiswick & Latymer 218-7

Reading seconds 175 all out

Chiswick & Latymer won by 43 runs

CAPTAIN Clyde Scott led by example as Chiswick & Latymer secured 25 much needed points with victory over bottom side Reading seconds on Saturday.

Scott smashed 17 boundaries on his way to a magnificent 81, while Leo Glover was unbeaten on 53, as Chiswick made 218-7 from their 50 overs.

All Reading had in reply was an opening batsman who notched 123 runs, but after he was run out only one other player reached double figures as they were bowled out for 175.

Rohit Jhanjariya and Adnan Malik both bowled four maidens, from 20 and 12 overs respectively, as they finished with figures of 3-49 and 2-31.

Elsewhere, Chiswick’s seconds enjoyed a five-wicket win over Purley on Thames, but the thirds lost by one wicket to Datchet fourths, and the fourths went down by 46 runs to Cove fifths.

Meanwhile, The Ashes came early to Hounslow last Thursday when Chiswick & Latymer’s U17s hosted touring Australian school, Toowoomba Grammar, the visitors winning comprehensively.
