KARLEIGH Osborne reckons he's the answer to Brentford's defensive crisis.

The Bees are expected to be without crocked duo Leon Legge and Mark Phillips for tomorrow's trip to Stockport, while Alan Bennett is suspended after his red card in Tuesday night's defeat at Brighton.

Boss Andy Scott wants to bring Pim Balkestein back on loan from Ipswich after Roy Keane turned down his approach for Tommy Smith .

If he fails, that would leave Osborne as the only experienced centre-half at Griffin Park, and he hasn't started a game since November, making just four in total all season.

But the academy graduate, who turns 22 today, is ready to grab his chance with both hands.

He said: "I've been trying to do my best in training, and hopefully the gaffer thinks I'm good enough to give me a chance.

"I've played a few reserve games and feel I'm ready to step in.

"It's important I take my chance if I get it. I just want to play and do my best for the team."
