LONDON Broncos have signed Scott Wheelden from Hull KR for the remainder of the 2012 season.

The 26 year old prop made his debut for Hull FC in 2006 against Bradford before switching to the other side of the city to play for Hull KR at the end of the 2008 season.

Wheelden is a strong, reliable player who will bring some experience with him having competed in eight play-off games and a Grand Final.

Rob Powell, London Broncos head coach, SAID: “We’re looking forward to getting Scott in. We have been a bit thin on props all season. Scott provides a lot of experience having played over 120 Super League games for both Hull clubs.”

Wheelden added: “I’m really happy to come down to London and be given the chance to play some rugby and better my career. It will be good to get some game time under my belt and play.”

Meanwhile, summer signing Jarrad Hickey has been released from his contract with the Broncos.

The Super League club has worked with the player and his management company to try and secure either registration or loan with another club, but this has proved unsuccessful, and so by mutual consent, Hickey has been released.
