BRENTFORD have completed the signing of goalkeeper David Button from Charlton Athletic.

The Bees have needed a new shot-stopper following Simon Moore’s departure to Premier League outfit Cardiff City earlier this week.

Manager Uwe Rosler has moved quickly to fill the void left by Moore and 24-year-old Button has joined for an undisclosed fee this afternoon.

Button came through the ranks at White Hart Lane but made just one substitute appearance for the north Londoners, spending time out on loan at 11 clubs.

He racked up more than 100 appearances during spells with Grays, Rochdale, Luton, Bournemouth, Dagenham, Crewe, Shrewsbury, Plymouth, Leyton Orient, Doncaster and Barnsley before moving to Charlton last summer.

However, the form of ex-Bee Ben Hamer restricted Button to just six appearances at the Valley last campaign.

The Stevenage-born shot-stopper has been given the green light to join the Bees and could feature in tonight's pre-season friendly with Cardiff.
