CHELSEA midfielder George Saville has agreed to join Brentford on loan until January.
The 20-year-old, who had a spell on loan at Championship outfit Millwall last season, will remain at Griffin Park until January 5.
Saville will add bite to the Bees midfield and can also fill in at centre-back, having played for the Blues in defence at youth level.
He started out as a left-back and joined Chelsea from Reading as an U13 prospect, turning professional in 2010.
“George has been on our radar for a long while and when the opportunity arose to secure him on loan until at least early January we had absolutely no hesitation,” said Brentford sporting director Mark Warburton.
“He will bring a real bite to our midfield coupled with the ability to technically maintain good possession and the vision to unlock opposition defences.
“We welcome him to GP and would also like to thank the Chelsea Academy Director Neil Bath for his help in finalising all matters related to this loan deal.”
Meanwhile, the Bees have also completed the signing of Alan McCormack.
We told you earlier this month that McCormack was on Uwe Rosler’s wish-list and the former Swindon Town skipper has inked a two-year contract.
