BRENTFORD have signed Watford defender Dale Bennett on a month's loan.

With Karleigh Osborne set for a spell on the sidelines with a foot injury and Pim Balkestein at Rochdale until January, Miguel Llera and Marcel Eger are the only two available centre-backs.

But Bees boss Uwe Rosler has moved to add the former Hornets academy graduate to the squad ahead of Saturday's home clash with Chesterfield.

The 21-year-old signed a professional deal with the Championship club in 2008, and spent a spell on loan at Kettering Town.

However, he has failed to feature for Watford this season, and will be keen to follow Hornets team-mate Adam Thompson in proving a hit at Griffin Park.
