BRENTFORD will discover the extent of Charlie MacDonald's ankle injury later today.

The Bees striker has been sidelined with ligament damage since last Tuesday's defeat against Brighton, and is expected to be out for a couple of weeks.

However, boss Nicky Forster will find out exactly how long he will be without the former Southend frontman when he gets his scan results this afternoon.

Meanwhile, Robbie Simpson has been sent for a scan on his ankle injury as he bids to be fit for next month's JPT final.

The on-loan Huddersfield Town hotshot fell awkwardly in training on Monday, leaving him on crutches wearing a protective boot.

But X-ray results have shown there is no break, so Simmo will have a scan later today to assess the damage is to his ligaments.
