BEN Strevens bagged his first league goal for seven months in Saturday's draw with Walsall – then set his sights on double figures.

The striker scored his first goal in a Brentford shirt in the midweek win against Gateshead, and opened his account in League One with a first-half header against the Saddlers.

But not one to rest on his laurels, the former Dagenham star wants to get to 10 as soon as possible.

He said: "It's been a difficult four months for myself being out injured, so to get two goals in two games was nice.

"A couple of years ago at Dagenham I got 20, and last season I got 15, so hopefully I can get towards double figures. This is only the start."

Strevens headed the Bees in front 11 minutes in as the Bees threatened to run riot.

But they couldn't turn their dominance into goals, and were hit with a sucker punch after the break when Steve Jones pounced on a defensive blunder by James Wilson to level.

Hotshot Strevens thought he had bagged the winner with another header late on, only to be denied by the linesman's flag.

He added: "I was disappointed at the time, but one of the boys who was warming up said I was just offside."
