BRENTFORD will check on star striker Clayton Donaldson this morning after he picked up a groin injury in last night's pre-season friendly win against Millwall.
The former Crewe frontman was withdrawn at the break after going down under the challenge of Danny Shittu in the first half of the 3-0 win at Griffin Park.
And Donaldson is keeping his fingers crossed the injury isn't serious ahead of the visit of Celtic at the weekend.
He said: “My groin's a bit tender. It was a bit sore leading up to half time and I couldn't carry on.
“It's not what you need during pre-season. I'll see the physio this morning and hopefully it settles down in the next 48 hours.”
