ADAM Forshaw has urged flat-mate Harlee Dean to join him in committing his future to Brentford.

The former Everton midfielder recently penned a new three-year deal at Griffin Park, while fellow young guns Simon Moore and Jake Bidwell are also tied up until 2016.

However, Dean has so far failed to sign the contract extension on the table.

And Forshaw admits it's critical the Bees keep the highly-rate defender at the club.

He said: “I would love him to stay. Harlee's a good mate of mine and done really well last season.

“I've put a bit of pressure on him now that I've signed a new deal, so hopefully he does too!

“You can see that in the future he will go on to captain a club – he has those sort of leadership qualities.

“To keep hold of a player like that is quite critical I think.

“He's got a decision to make, so I'll leave it up to him.”

Forshaw hopes the Bees can go one better this season after missing out on promotion last campaign.

“I wouldn't have signed here if I didn't think we could get into the Championship,” added the talented 21-year-old.

“The ambition everyone has shown only bodes well for the season.

“It wasn't a tough decision to sign on. I wanted to leave things until the summer so I could concentrate on my football.

“I went away and thought about things and decided this is the best place to continue my development.”
