BRENTFORD have beaten the deadline to sign Sheffield Wednesday striker Clinton Morrison on loan for the rest of the season.
Bees boss Uwe Rosler has finally ended his search for a replacement for Gary Alexander with the capture of the 32-year-old Republic of Ireland international.
Morrison scored more than 100 goals for Crystal Palace before spells at Birmingham City and Coventry.
The frontman made the switch to the Sheffield in 2010, but has bagged just three goals for the Owls this campaign, and spent a spell on loan at League One rivals MK Dons.
And Wednesday boss Dave Jones has given permission for Morrison to leave Hillsborough for the remainder of the season.
He is expected to go straight into the squad for Saturday's home clash with Rochdale.
