BRENTFORD have rubbished rumours that former boss Martin Allen is being lined up to replace Andy Scott.

Reports in the tabloid press last week claimed that Allen, who spent two successful years as manager in TW8 between 2004-06, was set for a sensational return to Griffin Park .

Sections of Bees supporters are calling for Scott's head following a disappointing start to the campaign.

But chief executive Andrew Mills has moved to quash speculation about his future.

He said: "There's no plans nor have there been any discussions to make changes.

"It has been frustrating this season, but progress is being made.

"We're still in a constructive position, and not sitting somewhere where we need to make decisive decisions.

"We have the belief that we have one of the brightest young managers outside of the top flight, and I can't see anything other than an improvement since he took over.

"We have put together a group of players who collectively can match the ambitions of this football club."
