BRENTFORD boss Andy Scott could plunder Glenn Hoddle's Spanish soccer academy for a second player.

Scott has already taken keeper Billy Lumley from the former England boss's school aimed at getting failed young footballers back into the pro game.

And he has now taken another, former Chelsea midfielder James Simmonds, on trial too, giving him a run-out in last night's 3-1 win over Sutton United.

Scott said: "I went and had a look at Glenn's academy when we were training over in Spain earlier this month, and I'm definitely interested in seeing what James can do. He will get another chance to show us against Croydon on Saturday."

Another triallist who featured on Wednesday from somewhat closer to home was Bentley Graham, a Sutton player who found himself in the strange situation of playing for Brentford against his teammates.

The young midfielder has been on trial with the Bees for a few weeks now and played in most of their friendlies.

Scott said: "Bentley has done alright, but it's a big step up for him physically from what he's used to. He'll get another chance against Croydon too.

"He's too old for our youth team, but developing raw talent like him is exactly one of the reasons why I brought the reserve team back."

Meanwhile, Scott has warned Moses Ademola he's still a long way off a first-team place, despite him scoring one and setting another up at Sutton.

The rookie Brentford striker opened the scoring with a neat finish before teeing up Nathan Elder for the second with a sublime pass.

Scott said earlier this summer that he expected the former Croydon frontman to be challenging for a first team berth this season.

But he added after the Sutton game: "Moses is not ready yet. He's a long way off.

"He had a good first-half but a poor second-half, and I told him so. He showed what he is capable of, but he has to kick on and do it on a more consistent basis."

Brentford's third goal was scored by Leon Legge, who as skipper for the night, lifted the President's Cup the teams were playing for, in honour of former Sutton United chairman Andrew Letts.
