LEON Legge showed Charlton fans what they were missing at the Valley on Saturday.

The no-nonsense centre-half had a trial with the Addicks while at Tonbridge Angels, but was told he didn't have what it takes to earn a deal with the south Londoners.

However, he came back to haunt Chris Powell's men with a bullet header to snatch a last-gasp win.

He said: "I had a trial but it never worked out. Alan Pardew invited me down to train for a week.

"He told me to work on things and he would keep tabs on me, but I never heard from him again."

Legge's effort means he has now matched last year's tally of three goals. But the 25-year-old is confident of beating that by the end of the season.

"I'm buzzing," he added. "I scored a lot of goals when I was at Tonbridge and it's something I want to improve here.

"I got three last year and am confident of beating that."
