MICKEY Spillane has his fingers crossed he makes the Brentford squad on Sunday so he can have another shot at Wembley glory.

The Irishman tasted JPT success with Luton Town in 2009 during a season-long loan stint from Norwich City.

Spillane helped the Hatters to a 3-2 victory against Scunthorpe United at Wembley, but could not stop them getting relegated from the Football League a month later.

However, the 22-year-old has another chance to repeat the Trophy triumph when the Bees face Carlisle.

But Spillane has barely featured under new boss Nicky Forster , and faces a fight to even make the bench, despite scoring in Tuesday night's win against Sheffield Wednesday .

He said: "I’ve got my fingers crossed and am working hard in training, so hopefully I’ll be involved.

"I’ve played in most of the rounds, and it would be devastating to miss out on playing at Wembley again.

"Winning there a couple of years ago was one of the highlights of my career."
