UWE Rosler insists Brentford are exactly where they want to be, despite being held to a 1-1 draw at already relegated Hartlepool last night.

The Bees went into the game knowing Doncaster's home defeat to Notts County meant they would only need a draw at home to Rovers next Saturday to go up automatically if they won at Victoria Park.

However, after coming home with just a point, Brentford must now beat Doncaster on the last day of the season if they are to avoid the lottery of the play-offs.

Manager Rosler said: “We are where we want to be, and I now have a week to find the right plan. We are the challengers and we have to attack – we have to win.

“But I loved being in that position as a player. Nothing has changed, even if we had lost today. It is still in our own hands, and we have worked very hard for it to still be in our own hands.

“We were not at the races until they scored, then we started to attack. We then gained control and were the better team in the second half.

“We know we can play better than that, but all credit to Hartlepool, they did not let their heads drop and gave us a good fight.”
