BRENTFORD boss Andy Scott plans to ask Matthew Benham for more cash to boost his budget for next season.

The supporter-investor has already agreed to pump £1million a year into the club until the end of 2013/14.

But Scott will ask for another cash injection in a bid to improve the squad next season.

He told Westside Radio : "The Matthew Benham money is just to stabilise the club and the budget from this season.

"So as it stands, there is not going to be a great deal of difference from this year to next.

"I've got a meeting with Matthew coming up where I'm going to stake a claim for a little bit more money to try and push us higher.

"The aim is to get into the Championship in three years, and with 14 players on contract at the moment it might be the ideal time to put a bit more money in to try strengthen the squad."

Even if Benham does give Scott more funds to spend this summer, the Bees boss has warned fans not to expect him to splash the cash in the transfer market.

"Let me make this clear, we're not talking millions," he added.

"We're not talking about bundles of cash. We're not talking about anywhere near the budgets of the top eight or nine clubs in this league."
