UWE Rosler watched Brentford dump out League One leaders Charlton then vowed: “We want to go all the way.”

The Bees reached the final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy last season, only to suffer heartbreak as they were beaten by Carlisle.

However, they reached the southern area quarter-finals with an impressive 3-0 victory at the Valley thanks to goals from Blair Adams , Kevin O'Connor and Toumani Diagouraga .

And now boss Rosler wants to go one better than last season and lift the trophy at Wembley.

He said: “It was very important that we started the game full of confidence.

“The first goal helped us. Charlton had problems to play through us, but the most enjoyable thing for me was the way we kept the ball in tight areas.

“We played one, two-touch football on a fantastic pitch against a very good team.

“We've eliminated MK Dons and now Charlton, who were both leaders at the time, but we still have blips.

“We've done the hard work in two tough away games – now we want to go all the way.”
