ANDY Scott slammed referee Danny McDermid after 10-man Brentford crashed to defeat at Brighton last night.

The Bees boss felt the visitors should've had a first-half penalty when Charlie MacDonald was hauled down in the box.

And to make matters worse, it was Brighton who were awarded a spot-kick in second-half stoppage-time, which former Bee Nicky Forster converted to seal a 3-0 win, while Alan Bennett's handball earned the substitute a red card.

"I don't why Charlie would go over if he was about to shoot," said Scott.

"There was some bizarre decisions. Theirs was probably a penalty, but a sending-off? I don't think so.

"He [Alan Bennett] was about a yard away from the ball and their player has hit it at him. It was absolutely ridiculous."
