UWE Rosler has backed Richard Lee, despite his blunder gifting Colchester all three points in last night's 2-1 defeat.

Brentford threw away the lead to a late Steven Gillespie brace, whose winner squirmed under Lee's body, despite the Bees keeper seeming to have it covered.

But boss Rosler pointed out that not only did Lee save Brentford on a number of other occasions during the game, but has also been their saviour numerous times this season.

He said: “Richard has won us many points this season. We have to look at ourselves collectively before pointing the finger of blame, and mark better as a unit.

“We have to do better with balls into the box. After they had equalised, they looked like scoring from every ball they put in.

“Richard made some very good saves before they scored. He made a mistake, but things like that happen, and he still has my full confidence.”
