SETTING a new club record best start to the season means little to boss Conor O'Shea as he sets out to create a winning dynasty at Harlequins.

Last Friday's 25-17 win over Connacht in their Heineken Cup opener was Quins' 11 th straight victory, beating the 10 successive wins they achieved at the start of ther 1954-55 and 1996-97 seasons.

But O'Shea is not one for taking notice of the record books, and is instead fully focused on making it a deadly dozen at Gloucester on Saturday.

He said: “We're not thinking of the record at all. You win nothing breaking records, so it is irrelevant to us, and these guys are here to win things.

“It's all very nice goiung unbeaten through September and October, but it's doing it in April and May that is really counts.”

He may take little interest in the record, but O'Shea it will come under threat more then ever before at Gloucester, against a club Quins hammered 42-6 at The Stoop only eight weeks ago.

He said: “We didn't get our rhythm going against Connacht in a few areas, but you have to win your home games in the Heineken Cup, which we did.

“We are now going to one of the toughest grounds to play at in Europe, as Gloucester play with a great physicality and ambition, and you can discount what happened in September completely.

“Games can go like that for any team at any time, but each game is new, and Gloucester will be favourites for every home game they play.”
