ANDRE Schürrle will join Chelsea after the Blues reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen today.

The 22-year-old German will make the move to Stamford Bridge following the completion of a medical and the discussion of personal terms.

Chelsea confirmed the deal, believed to be worth in the region of £18million, in an announcement on their official website this afternoon.

It read: “Chelsea Football Club and Bayer 04 Leverkusen have reached an agreement for the transfer of André Schürrle, subject to the completion of legal documentation and related matters, including personal terms and passing a medical.”

New Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will now turn his attentions to recruiting a new striker, with Edinson Cavani high on his list of targets.
