ROBERTO Di Matteo has admitted he may be forced to call on his reserve team rookies for Chelsea’s Champions League final clash with Bayern Munich.
Gary Cahill, David Luiz and Florent Malouda are all struggling with injuries ahead of the showdown in Munich to give Blues boss a selection headache for the club’s biggest game in four years.
To make matters worse, Chelsea are also missing John Terry, Branislav Ivanovic, Ramires and Raul Merieles through suspension.
And with Di Matteo running out of options, he may have to turn to the likes of Sam Hutchinson and Lucas Piazon who were involved with the first-team squad at the weekend.
Asked what he would do if Luiz and Cahill were unavailable, the Italian said: “That’s the worst case scenario. Then we will take some reserve team players on the bench. I have been trying different options in training just in case.”
