JAKE Bidwell is ready to roll up his sleeves and fight for his place in Brentford's first XI.

The on-loan Everton defender has started just once in the last six games, but came off the bench in Saturday's win against Preston.

Bees boss Uwe Rosler has opted for the more experienced Tony Craig at left-back in recent weeks, but Bidwell is prepared to battle for his spot in the side.

He said: “Obviously I'd like to be playing more – I think there would be something wrong with me if I didn't.

“It's part of football. I've got to respect the manager's decision.

“The lads that have been playing have been doing well, so I've got to keep working hard and bide my time.

“It's up to me to deal with it and do my best to get back into the side.”
