RYMAN LEAGUE PREMIER
Harrow Borough 3
Dulwich Hamlet 1

Stoke City Academy starlet Marcel Barrington bagged a goal to cap Harrow Borough’s best performance of the season at home to Dulwich Hamlet on Saturday.

The south London visitors arrived flying high in fourth place and led inside 10 minutes courtesy of Nyren Clunis.

However, Shaun Lucien’   of the campaign levelled matters before the interval and Dave Anderson’s men ran the show after the break, Jordan Berry firing the hosts in front before Barrington’s stoppage-time strike clinched the points.

Rhys Murrell-Williamson’s late winner at Leiston earned him elevation to the starting line-up, and Saheed Sankoh also returned to action after injury, Leroy Griffiths and Daniel Llacer dropping to the bench to make way.

Clunis had already poked a shot wide before he gave the visitors an eighth-minute lead, heading in at the far post after Alex Tokarczyk had gone full-length to parry away a goal-bound header from the diminutive Erhun Oztumer following Ellis Green’s left-wing cross.

The men in pink and blue were dominant, with Kevin James running the show in midfield and Ian Daly causing the Harrow defence all sorts of problems by dropping deep to find space and bring colleagues into play.  However, rather as in the first half of the game with Wealdstone recently, the dominant side were not the ones having the most efforts on goal.

Adam Louth’s 25-yarder was not too far wide of the mark, before a good tackle by the same player led to Simeon Akinola breaking on the left to shoot across goal.
So it was not altogether a shock when Borough levelled on 28 minutes with their first goal in open play this season.

Berry robbed a defender before surging up the right-hand side and when the cross was only half-cleared Lucien curled the ball beyond keeper Paul Idem from the left-side of the box.

Clunis went close again for the visitors, but Danny Leech had a close range effort deflected behind at the other end before sending a bicycle kick wide from the resulting corner as the hosts continued to create most of the chances leading up to half-time.

Borough pressed higher up the pitch after the interval, denying Hamlet the space for their passing game, and consequently began to dictate the pace of events.

Murrell-Williamson’s cross was just too far ahead of the hardworking Simeon Akinola before Harrow’s pressure told as they seized the lead on 64 minutes. Dulwich made a mess of clearing Lucien’s cross from the right, but Borough still needed a large slice of luck as Berry’s 20-yard shot ballooned off a defender and over the stranded Idem.

Akinola might have sealed matters when he rounded Idem only to have a touch too many allowing a defender to recover and block and they needed Alex Tokarczyk to dive full length to keep out Peter Adeniyi’s angled header and preserve the lead late on.

Adeniyi scooped another effort wide as Hamlet applied late pressure, but Borough sealed it with a superb breakaway effort deep into added time.

Veteran striker Griffiths, who made a good impression from the bench, brilliantly kept in Leech’s clearance before motoring forward and delivering a delicious cross for Barrington to finish with a first-time shot from 10 yards out.

After back-to-back wins Borough will hope to maintain the momentum in tonight’s home clash with tenants Hendon.
