RISING star Leon Beriche produced a host of top performances to help Hillingdon Swimming Club qualify for next month's National Junior Finals in Liverpool.

The 11-year-old won all four of his age group races in the Speedo Junior Inter League Southern Area Final in Aylesbury, and competed with great credit in three more events in the age group above as Hillingdon grabbed the top four finish they needed to reach the national finals.

The whole team managed 11 victories from 49 events to take Hillingdon (187pts) into third place, behind Thurrock (198), one point off Boldmere (188), and ahead of City of Norwich (179), City of Derby (140) and Bournemouth (132).

Coach John Greenwood said: "This was our goal from the outset of the league campaign and Hillingdon will now compete against the best young teams in the country - a fantastic achievement."
