BEN Hamer is due to return to Reading in the new year when his loan at Brentford expires.
The Royals keeper had an impressive start to a fourth spell at Griffin Park, but has lost the number one jersey to Richard Lee .
However, Bees boss Andy Scott is keen to extend his loan in west London as he wants two keepers fighting it out for the gloves.
But Hamer has told Scott he wants to return to the Madjeski.
"I want to keep Ben here, but he wants to play games," said Scott.
"He lost his place because he was late in traffic and Richard's come in and taken his chance.
"It's something we'll assess, but we still have Simon Moore and Simon Royce as back-up."
