MBBO REGIONAL DIVISION 1 Eastcote 1 Sonning 2
A BAD day at the office ended with Eastcote losing both their 100 per cent record and top spot in the league.
Missing four players, they started poorly and soon conceded a penalty stroke, only for Mark Welch to keep it out.
However, it failed to act as a wake-up call and they found themselves 2-0 down by the break through two short corners.
Chris Wardell gave the home side hope midway through the half with a trademark tap-in, but even a draw was beyond a lacklustre Eastcote side, who slipped to third in the table.
The seconds also lost, going down 6-4 at Bracknell after falling 3-0 behind in 10 minutes. But there was better news for the thirds, who ran out 4-0 winners against Maidenhead, with James Duncan-Anderson grabbing a hat-trick.
There were also wins for the fifths, sixths, eighths and Past Masters.
The first team was in action again against Brentwood in the England Trophy the following day, and ran out comfortable 7-0 winners, with David Cooper and Chris
Sleeman scoring hat-tricks and Adam Mulholland bagging the other goal.
The over-50s men's Vintage side was also in action, with Lloyd Wood's last-minute goal giving them a 3-2 win against Sevenoaks after Harry Lota's two short-corner strikes had been cancelled out.
Goals from Emily Reed and Catriona Bursour helped the ladies to a 2-0 friendly victory over London Wayfarers.
The fifths also won, thrashing Gymkana 6-0, with Heather Piper and Barbara Georgellis among the goals and youngster Seren Adlem producing a solid display in defence.
