KEVIN O'Connor is set to sign a new two-year contract that will keep him at Brentford until 2013.

The Bees captain's current deal is due to run out in the summer, but he is close to extending his stay at Griffin Park .

O'Connor has made more than 400 appearances since signing professional terms in 1999, and is hopeful he can rack up even more games in red and white.

He revealed: "I've been speaking to [chief executive] Andrew Mills for the past couple of weeks and hopefully we can get something sorted soon.

"We had a chat on Monday and I'm expecting a call today. We're very close. There's just a few little bits we need to finish off. "
