BRENTFORD have opened talks with Karleigh Osborne about a new three-year contract at Griffin Park.

The Bees defender has been an almost ever-present since signing a two-year deal in the summer, and has been one of the players of the season so far.

And boss Andy Scott has rewarded him with a contract extension.

He said: "We have spoken to Karleigh's representatives,

"He has done well this season, and has really taken the bull by the horns.

"He still has 18 months to run on his current deal, but we've rewarded him with a new one."

Meanwhile, Kevin O'Connor is still set to sign a two-year extension – as we exclusively revealed last month.

The Bees captain revealed he was close to committing his future to Griffin Park, with the new deal keeping him in TW8 until 2013.

Scott added: "Everyone's happy and we hope to have it ratified by the board soon."
