AFC Wimbledon new-boy Pim Balkestein insists he's got the stomach for a survival scrap.

The Brentford defender joined on a one-month loan today and will go straight into the side for tomorrow's crunch clash with fellow strugglers Dagenham.

Terry Brown's boys are without a win in seven games and sit in 17 th spot, seven points clear of the League Two drop zone.

But the 24-year-old insists he's raring to go as he looks to help Wimbledon's basement battle.

He said: “When I first came to Brentford three years ago they were down in 16 th spot and struggling, so I know what kind of battle to expect.

“I haven't played regularly since having an operation in November and need games at my age. Wimbledon have a busy schedule, so this is a perfect move for me.”
