BRENTFORD'S promotion push took another blow as they slumped to defeat at Brunton Park.

The Bees fired a blank for the second successive game after another miserable day on the road.

Boss Uwe Rosler made four changes from the side that lost at Stevenage on Tuesday night, with Shaleum Logan, Stuart Dallas, Toumani Diagouraga and Marcello Trotta coming into the starting XI.

However, the visitors fell behind midway through the first half when Sean O'Hanlon's header looped over Simon Moore.

The Bees had a mountain to climb 10 minutes after the break when Mark Beck ran on to Brad Potts' pass to double Carlisle's lead.

Rosler threw on Bradley Wright-Phillips and youngster Charlie Adams, but they couldn't find a way back as Brentford slipped to sixth in the table.

BEES: S Moore, Logan, Dean, L Moore, Craig, Douglas, Diagouraga, Forshaw (Adams 75), Dallas, Donaldson (Wright-Phillips 54), Trotta.

Subs (not used): Lee, Hodson, Adeyemi, Reeves, Hayes.
