BRENTFORD came from behind to get their promotion push back on track with victory over play-off rivals Swindon Town.

Second-half goals from Sam Saunders and Clayton Donaldson saw the Bees leapfrog the Robins in the table, after they cancelled out Simon Ferry's opener.

Swindon started the stronger, with Aden Flint's header saved by Simon Moore.

Donaldson missed a golden chance to break the deadlock midway through the half, steering his shot wide of Wes Foderingham's left post from six yards.

However, it was the visitors who were gifted the lead just after the half-hour mark.

Harlee Dean was caught in possession, and Ferry sidestepped Liam Moore before firing home from 12 yards.

The Bees were almost 2-0 down moments later when Gary Roberts found himself all alone in the Bees box, but his shot came back off the post.

Swindon continued to dominate, with Dean making amends for his error when he cleared Andy Williams' effort off the line.

Uwe Rosler responded by sending on Saunders and Bradley Wright-Phillips after the break as they desperately searched for a way back into the game.

They found it 20 minutes from time. Wright-Phillips sent Donaldson in the clear, and he was sent sprawling by Foderingham in the box.

The Swindon keeper escaped with a booking, but he could do nothing as Saunders smashed the penalty kick down the middle.

Foderingham made up for his blunder minutes after when he tipped Saunders' thumping free-kick against the crossbar.

But the former Fulham man was picking the ball out of his own net again on 75 minutes.

Adam Forshaw's floated ball into the box was nudged down by Tom Adyemei, and Donaldson rifled into the back of the net from six yards.

Wright-Phillips almost wrapped up victory for the Bees, only to be denied by Foderingham from point-blank range, before Donaldson was thwarted late on.

However, Brentford held on to complete the double over Swindon to boost their promotion hopes.
