BRENTFORD boss Uwe Rosler insists his summer transfer activity is complete following the signing of Cardiff City defender Ben Nugent .

The Bees ended their long search for a centre-half with the capture of the highly-rated 20-year-old, who has joined on loan until January.

Nugent's arrivals takes the number of signings to 10, and Rosler insists he's unlikely to add any more before the window slams shut at the end of the month.

He said: “I'm very happy with what I have now, in terms of size, quality, balance, experience and youth. We got most of our deals done on good terms and have money left if we want to react later in the season if we have to add.

“Ideally I would've liked to have had them all in before the start of pre-season, but in England things happen much later or you have to pay a premium to get things done early.

“We've got the right players on loan, on Bosmans and also sold a player for a significant amount of money.

“The transfer window is still open [if we wanted to make more signings], but things can also happen the other way.”

Nugent has been the missing piece of the jigsaw for Rosler, who turned to the towering defender after seeing two bids rejected for Leicester City's Liam Moore.

“We've been looking to strengthen in this department for a long time,” added the German manager.

“We enquired about a couple of players and made a bid for another.

“We've found a player who suits what we were searching for. He meets the criteria of the type of player we like to work with.

“Malky [Mackay] told me he's the perfect character for us, and I think he will surprise a lot of people as well.”
