BOSS Andy Scott believes David McCracken will add vital experience to Brentford's backline. The 28-year-old signed a two-year deal at Griffin Park on Friday when he arrived on a free transfer from MK Dons.

He will fight it out with 22-year-old Karleigh Osborne, Leon Legge – in only his second season as a pro - and Alan Bennett for a place in the heart of defence, while the former Wycombe and Dundee United man is also a contender for the captain’s armband.

Scott said: “We needed more experience defensively, and David shows every sign of being a natural leader. He is solid an uncompromising.

“David was captain at Wycombe, and played for years in the Scottish Premier, and to get him on a free transfer was a superb bit of business.”
