BRENTFORD have agreed a loan deal for Cardiff City defender Ben Nugent.

BRENTFORD have agreed a loan deal for Cardiff City defender Ben Nugent .

Bees boss Uwe Rosler has been in the market for another centre-half all summer as cover for Harlee Dean and Tony Craig.

Brentford saw two bids rejected for Leicester City's Liam Moore , while Reading's Kaspars Gorkss , Bristol Rovers skipper Tom Parkes and Swindon's Darren Ward have also been on their radar.

However, the Griffin Park outfit have explored other avenues and secured the signing of highly-rated Nugent instead.

The 20-year-old made a brief cameo in Cardiff's pre-season friendly defeat against Brentford on Tuesday night.
