Bedfont Town have drawn a line under their row with Hayes & Yeading and insist there is no problem between the two clubs.
The two have enjoyed close relations since Town, then Bedfont Green, ground-shared at Yeading before they merged with Hayes.
But tempers boiled over in last week's County Cup semi-final, which Hayes & Yeading won 1-0, after which their manager, Garry Haylock, branded Bedfont a bunch of bruisers.
However, despite complaining to the County FA, Bedfont want to put the incident behind them and concentrate on their push for the Zamaretto One Central play-offs.
Chairman Doug White said: “I thought we competed with them very fairly and very honestly, and I think we deserved a little bit more out of the game.
“ We enjoy a very special relationship with Hayes & Yeading. You have to remember that we ground shared with them for two years and we’ve invited them over at the beginning of the season to have a friendly here which we’d look forward to.
Club secretary Stewart Cook added: “We don’t want to get into a slagging match with Garry. The comments are completely untrue and I don’t think they warrant a response because it is just complete nonsense.
“ We were so proud of our players, the way we played and the way we conducted ourselves against a side who were I think 54 places above us in the pyramid. So to read the comments was very disappointing.
“ If anybody wants to take issue with it, then they can, but we have got nothing against Hayes & Yeading at all.
Meanwhile, Bedfont followed last Saturday's 3-2 win over Bedworth with a 2-1 win over Biggleswade Town on Wednesday night.
Goals from Reis Stanislaus and Wayne O'Sullivan put Bedfont two goal up, and although the visitors pulled a goal back late on, Bedfont held on to go ninth in the table, just two places off a play-off place.
