ROCKY Baptiste scored the only goal as Harrow arrested their recent form slump with victory at Carshalton on Saturday.

The veteran striker bagged his 16th league goal of the campaign to complete a double over the Robins and end a sequence of three successive defeats which had dented their play-off ambitions.

With Dwayne Clarke’s cracked ribs meaning he was on the long-term injured list, Howell fielded new signing Danny Hart from Barnet on the right wing, while Kenta Nakashima had a free role behind Baptiste.

Chris King’s return from suspension meant Wayne Walters could return to his more familiar role at centre back alongside Danny Leech.

In the early sparring Nakashima saw his fizzing shot grabbed at the second attempt by Craig Ross, while at the other end, Carl Wilson- Dennis headed off target.

Nakashima then went close again from Hart’s free kick before Borough broke the deadlock on 28 minutes.

Danny McGonigle provided the threat with a cross from the left and when it deflected off a home defender, Baptiste reacted quickest to score with a looping header.

In the second half Borough needed a brilliant tackle from Walters to deny Adam Mekki, while Nick Jupp saved well from Chris Henry, Justyn Roberts and Wilson-Dennis.

Borough were close to wrapping up the points when Walters crashed a header off the underside of the bar. As it was, one goal proved enough to bag three points.
