HEARTBROKEN Harrow AC 1,500m star Andy Baddeley’s Olympic journey ended at the semi-final stage last night.

Baddeley made the final of the event four years ago in Beijing but could not replicate that achievement as he faded in the Olympic Stadium in Stratford.

With the first semi run at a gentle pace, Baddeley’s date with destiny was always going to be difficult as the heat was turned up in the search for fastest loser spots.

As expected, second semi was run in a much quicker time and Baddeley crossed the line eighth in a time of 3.36.03 to leave him out of the reckoning for this week’s final.
