HAYES & Yeading held a behind-closed-doors training session to run the rule over potential recruits for next season on Tuesday night.
Luke Williams and Daniel Wishart remain the only two players from last season’s squad signed up for another crack at the Blue Square South in 2013-14.
The Gazette revealed last week that John Goddard is in talks over a new deal, however no agreement has yet been reached with the midfielder.
Former Liverpool defender Phil Babb (pictured) took the United hotseat earlier this month and has a major rebuilding job on his hands at the club.
Almost 100 players have been offered to the new Hayes & Yeading chief, with some of those players due to turn out in the practice match.
Babb will be hoping to add to the two players already on his books quickly and the club were close to completing their first signing of the summer as the Gazette went to press.
Discussions over last season’s squad will take place later this week as Babb looks to put his own stamp on the Blue Square South outfit.
He said: “Tony [O’Driscoll] and I will be having an in-depth discussion this week. We will go through the squad and the lads that want to stay will have to fight for their place as much as any of the new lads that we bring in.
“It’s all about competition for places and getting players that are hungry to start week-in-week-out. There’s no givens for anybody from last season. We will have a clearer picture soon.”
Babb is making his managerial debut with Hayes & Yeading. He holds a UEFA B licence.
