PHIL Babb is confident of securing the signing of Hampton & Richmond defender Dean Inman.

The Hayes & Yeading boss has been taking a closer look at the centre-back in a couple of pre-season friendlies and has made an offer to the player.

Inman is believed to have other options but has agreed in principle to join the Conference South club, with United boss Babb hopeful a deal can be thrashed out this week.

“We’re hopeful that Dean will sign for us at some time this week,” Babb said. “He has got another offer.

“We have made an offer to Hampton & Richmond for the registration of the player and Hampton & Richmond have agreed to that.

“In principle, we’ve agreed terms with Dean and therefore if everything gets done he should be a Hayes & Yeading player this week – if all goes well.”

Inman, a product of the Beavers' U18s set-up, previously attracted the attention of QPR, spending part of pre-season at Loftus Road after impressing Rangers in a friendly game.
