David Weir is a record breaker.
The Sutton man has claimed a record seventh London Marathon title after outsprinting Swiss Marcel Hug along the Mall.
Weir clocked 1 hour 31 minutes six seconds to pip the reigning champion to the line.
And the Weirwolf paid tribute to his family immediately afterwards.
He said: "Over the last few years I thought I was past it or didn't have the desire. To be honest, these four months have been very challenging mentally. I didn't think I was in superb shape even with my speeds and my times. I've just maintained my body well this year and picked the right places.
"My coach has been amazing for the last four months. My kids and eldest daughter has been like a rock. The last few weeks I've felt back to the old Dave Weir. Paris did me the world of good. I'm glad I did that to prepare for this. It did me the world of good.
"It was amazing. I just felt I had so much in me on the final sprint. That sprint has been missing in the last few years and all the way through the race I just felt so comfortable.
"When Marcel was doing his little sprint I felt I could cover it. I was one of the quickest downhill and uphill I felt good. I felt good all the way around and it was a nice feeling to have. Usually by 18, 19 miles I start blowing and the last seven or eight miles are tough."
There has been talk of Weir retiring and he revealed he would make a decision next week.
He added: "You'll find out in a week or so. I'll make my decision. We'll see. I want to enjoy the moment and then have a week off. I'll enjoy seeing my kids and my family and my friends. I just want to enjoy the week knowing I can make my decision next week."
