The casual runners are still out on the course at the Ealing half marathon.

But the elite athletes have already crossed the line - their morning in the sunshine is done.

And the winner of the men's event was Jonathon Poole - a Serpentine Running Club member.

The London-based athlete was delighted to take the tape first, using the race as preparation for a marathon distance he is gearing up for.

He said: "It was a dream race really and the weather was great, it absolutely amazing, I'm always surprised by the number of people who come out on a Sunday morning to support us, I don't think you can expect any better.

"It's probably my favourite one, not only because it's local, but it's just amazing. The course is quite challenging, undulating and hilly, but it has to be my favourite one."
