Ealing half marathon 2017: Thousands take to the streets as the annual race gets under way

Watch as runners start this year's Ealing half marathon

The sixth annual Ealing half marathon is taking place today.

Thousands of runners have set off in beautiful sunshine this morning, with the elite athletes going across the start line first, followed by the more casual runners, which included some in fancy dress, and some local celebrities too.

The runners set off from Lammas Park and then follow a 13.1-mile closed road route through the leafy streets and parks of Ealing and can look forward to superb crowd support along the way.

Alzheimer's Society and Cancer Research are the two lead charities supported at this year's event.

The first runners are expected across the line at around 10.05am, with a prize ceremony expected at around 11.30am.

Reporter Tom Moore is on location, watching all the action and bringing the latest updates from the popular road race.
