Ealing Southall & Middlesex AC donned cross-country spikes for the last race of the season on Saturday and pocketed the U15 boys North West London League title to go with six individual medals.

Wormwood Scrubs played host, and for once, it was all but mud free. The fast conditions allowed U13 Lucy O'Brien to claim individual third in the 2,000m race as well as cementing third team for ES&M.

Leah Kelly took third overall in the U15 girls race, and the team, like the U13s, also took third.

The U13 boys championed George Kerry, who claimed runner’s up in the overall league.

Going for it: Lucy O'Brien (R)

The ES&M cream rose to the surface in the form of Mukhtar Farah who cantered home on the day followed closely by Charlie Sillett, Raunak Mainali, Conor McCarthy and Aydarus Ibrahim for overall third.

Meanwhile, Ealing senior men comfortably qualifying for the 12-Stage National Road Relays at Birmingham tomorrow when they finished 16th in last week’s South of England Relays - well inside the 25-team cut off.

As it happened, Hillingdon were 21st and Thames Valley Harriers 23rd to post a strong west London contingent headed to Sutton Park.

ES&M had entertained hopes of winning the award for most improved team, but had to settle for second to Cambridge & Coleridge.

Each leg in the Southern race at Milton Keynes was deemed ‘long’ or ‘short’ with the ES&M results below designating times and positions after each run.

Results: 16 ES&M (long leg, 7,664m): 21 Jamie Taylor-Caldwell 25m:45s; 21 Peter Flewitt 27:41; 20 Stephen Elson 27:12; 21 Samir Haddad 27:20; 18 Archie Jones 27:37; 15 Christopher Hepworth 25:59; short leg (5,053m): 16 Ben Waterman 16:34; 20 Nicholas Landeau 16:59; 21 Mohammed Hashi 17:44; 19 Sebastien Zajaczkowski 16:06; 17 Luke Nicholas 17:27; 16 Malik Ouzia 18:40
