One of Harrow Athletic Club's promising young runners was lavished with praise at a recent awards dinner.

Sky Draper came third in the award for the 2009 Young Triathlete of the Year at the 220 Triathlon magazine's annual awards at Sandown Racecourse.

The 13-year-old Northwood College student was described by the magazine's editor as 'frighteningly quick for her age' after she came runner-up to a pair of 18-year-old elite triathletes - Hollie Avil, senior British triathlon champion and Beijing Olympian and Jonathan Brownlee, gold medallist at the Youth Olympics and bronze medallist at the World Junior Triathlon Championships.

Draper's night was made even more special as she got to sit next to one of her idols, the 2007 and 2008 World Ironman Female Champion, Chrissie Wellington.
